Omegle vs OmeTV, Monkey, and Chatroulette

In short

Omegle no longer runs a chat. OmeTV and Monkey offer free video and text, with Monkey app-first. Chatroulette is video-only. Omezy and OmegleChat both do text, voice, and video in the browser. OmegleChat is the site you are on.

After Omegle closed, the category split. OmeTV, Monkey, and Chatroulette are the names people still line up next to Omegle. Omezy is our sister brand. OmegleChat is this site. They are not the same company, and none of them is the old Omegle.

Feature table

Read this as a format comparison, not a ranking. Competitor products change. A dash means the original Omegle service is not a live chat you can join.

What each name is for

Omegle

The original random text and video site. It shut down in November 2023. Searches for omegle online and omegle live are looking for a replacement, not a login that still works.

OmeTV

A video-first stranger chat, also reached by the short queries ome, ometv, and ome tv. It has text as well. It is not operated by OmegleChat.

Monkey

A social video app. People use it for fast face-to-face chat. It is app-first and expects an account. It is a poor fit if you wanted omegle chat online with nothing to install.

Chatroulette

One of the early random video sites. The format people associate with it is video, not a full text room. Skip and report culture is part of that category too.

Omezy

The orange sister brand. Text, voice, and video, plus interest matching, on omezy.net. The write-up on this site is About Omezy.

OmegleChat

This site. Plum rooms. Text, voice, or video. No signup. The address people should open is omeglechat.love, including visitors who still search omeglechat.online.

How to pick

If you want a browser page and a choice to keep the camera off, start on OmegleChat. If you want topic words before the queue, read the Omezy page and decide there. If you want a specific other brand’s app, go to that brand. Do not install a download that claims to be “Omegle APK” from a random result.

Start on OmegleChat

Meet a stranger in the browser. Text, voice, or video. No signup. Adults only.
